James A. Lowe is the Executive Counselor at Gauntlett & Associates. He is a 1970 graduate of the University of Colorado, School of Law where he served as a member of the Colorado Law Review. He received his B.A in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1968.

For the past decade he has been chief trial counsel for policyholders across the United States in insurance coverage disputes involving underlying intellectual property, business tort and antitrust claims. He has handled cases involving commercial general liability, umbrella excess, errors and omissions, technology, directors and officers, and other liability insurance policies. Mr. Lowe's insurance coverage experience includes obtaining nearly $100 million in insurance benefits for policyholders. His clients have ranged from some of the world's largest technology companies to domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, brokerages, banks, entertainment companies, software companies, Internet service companies, industrial goods and consumer product manufacturers, distributors, shippers, major retailers and small businesses. Mr. Lowe has also represented businesses in a wide variety of business tort cases.

Mr. Lowe also has more than twenty-five years of experience trying dozens of patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and similar cases, giving him a trial lawyer's working knowledge of cases for which he now obtains insurance coverage.

Mr. Lowe is a trial lawyer with hundreds of trials. He has been admitted to practice in California, Colorado, and in numerous federal district courts across the U.S., as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Lowe began his legal career as a U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate serving on active duty and in the U.S.A.F. Reserve, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He also served six years as a Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.

Mr. Lowe has counseled both small businesses and Fortune 500 and international companies; obtaining better insurance coverage for future claims involving intellectual property, antitrust, Internet activities and other business torts. He is familiar with numerous available policy forms from domestic insurers and the London Market.

Mr. Lowe is married, has two grown sons, and enjoys travel and fine wine.
