Joseph S. McMillen is an Associate at Gauntlett & Associates. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of San Diego, School of Law where he graduated in the top 22%. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1991, receiving his B.A. in Economics and Business.

For the past several years Mr. McMillen has worked on cases involving general business litigation in federal and state courts, including contract and business tort claims, as well as corporate disputes involving applications for writs of attachment, receivers and injunctions. He has handled a range of other matters also including trade secret cases, securities cases, land use litigation, real property liens, insurance coverage disputes, broker errors and omissions, employment law, admiralty law, bankruptcy, attorney malpractice and disability insurance claims litigation.

He also has experience with general civil litigation, including construction defect, contract disputes, construction injury, government entity defense and general civil liability cases. He began his career as a certified legal intern for the Orange County Public Defender's office, and later for the San Diego District Attorney's Office.

Mr. McMillen is married and the father of three children 10, 9, and 6 years old. In his spare time he enjoys basketball and surfing.
