Kory S. Booth is an Associate at Gauntlett & Associates. He is a 1996 graduate of the University of Denver College of Law. He attended the University of California Los Angeles, where he received his B.A. in Political Science in 1994. Mr. Booth was the recipient of a UCLA Alumni Association Academic Scholarship and the University of California Washington Scholar Award, where he studied in Washington D.C. while interning in the United States Senate Subcommittee on Investigations under Senator Sam Nunn, Ret.

Since joining Gauntlett & Associates in 2007 Mr. Booth has focused on representing a major Fortune 500 company in the pursuit of compensatory and punitive damages against an insurer for "bad faith" claims handling and delay in payment of policy benefits. Mr. Booth has also assisted in seeking policy benefits on behalf of other large corporations in federal court. He also has extensive experience in complex construction, commercial litigation and general liability defense. He has represented developers, general contractors, designers and subcontractors in complex litigations throughout California. He has also counseled numerous construction industry clients in the pursuit of insurance coverage and contractual matters.

Mr. Booth's construction experience in vast. He has represented a developer in the San Francisco Bay area concerning a 76-unit condominium complex, where allegations included construction defects at four buildings including the reconstruction of a nearly 100-year-old historic building. He also defended a general contractor in Los Angeles in a case requiring defense expenditures in excess of $4,000,000.00. He previously represented a conglomerate of design firms for the Los Angeles Metro Transit Authority relating to numerous suits stemming from construction of the subway. The Subway cases included thousands of plaintiffs seeking remedies for inverse condemnation, negligence, lost profits, unreasonable interference with land use, and bodily injuries. He also defended a national design firm in a hospital case involving construction defects and lost profits where claims exceeded $100,000,000 and the case settled in excess of $20,000,000. He has also represented builders and municipalities concerning high rise dwellings, manufacturing facilities, schools, apartments, street improvement projects and several other types of construction. He has also defended builders in several "toxic mold" cases and construction accidents. He has also successfully defended other major corporations in automobile collision, wrongful death and slip-and fall-cases.

In his spare time he enjoys golfing, snow skiing, hiking and photography. He and his wife are expecting their second child in the Summer of 2008.
